Real Life Wedding - Sue & Howard

The wedding of Sue & Howard took place in August 2014 at Poachers Country Hotel in Boston. They had the two man Singing Waiters show with Seb, an accomplished musician who has worked all across Europe and Simon, whose previous credits include the nation tour of Joseph & His Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The guys went for our standard singing waiters set list of:-

Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Buble version)

Don’t Stop Me Now

Mack The Knife

Brown Eyed Girl

I’ve Got You Under My Skin

You To Me Are Everything

My Way/New York Medley

Can’t Take Me Eyes Off You

This is what Sue said about her big day:-

“When we decided to get married again, I decided that I wanted a fun filled and happy day, for my family, friends and for Howard.

I had to keep it to myself until the day of the wedding. It was hard but I wanted the element of surprise for our guests and boy did it pay off.

Simon & Sebastian were absolutely fabulous. the comments I have received about them have been great. Our wedding was the first to have this idea at the hotel and now they are promoting this as an idea to other couples as they have said they have never had people up and dancing during the wedding breakfast before.

I would really recommend The Best Singing Waiters, nothing was too much trouble for them.”

During the evening, Sue went for a Mini Wedding Band option to kick start the dancefloor. The songs for this are:-

Forget you

Valerie

I’m a believer

Relight my fire

Moves like jagger

Dance with me tonight

Sex on fire

Mr brightside

Summer of 69

Wake me up before you go go

Sexbomb

Love train

Thank you to Charlie Mackelden for providing the photos

How We Choose The Best Singing Waiters

Ever wondered how somebody becomes a Singing Waiter? I’m going to let you into the secret world of how we go about choosing The Best Singing Waiters.

Experience is massive for us. You can have studied at the best college in the world but we need to make sure that our guys have had proper live experience in the field they will be performing at.

We have some West End performers on our books but we prefer it when our vocal entertainers have done Weddings and corporate events. Many people can sing, but we don’t employ wall flowers, we employ guys who can get the party started, guys that can sing like birds and run round like cheeky monkeys that can charm mother in laws!!!

Many of our guys have done cruise ship work. Now despite what Simon Cowell says, cruise ship and holiday entertainment work is very important in developing people who can entertain. It gives the performer an engaged audience to perform to. It helps them earn there stripes. It means that when our guys come to us they already know how to entertain and sing. This is why we have the Best Singing Waiters in the land.

We also hand pick our singers. They all come up to our head office in the People’s Republic of Wigan to perform for us. The reason we do that is so that we can see them sing in the flesh and to make sure we don’t get any divas. I want my guys to be as good off stage as they are on stage. I come from a very non fussy, non performance background where manners are king. I try my best to make sure that runs through my company too. If my 22 month old daughter can say please and thank you, then so can my TV star/West End singers.

There you have it, the criteria that we abide by. It’s meant that we have said goodbye to some talented people over the years but it does mean that we have the strongest, most polite team in the land. Guys who can entertain and create memories that will last forever for all the right reasons.

Beautiful or Brilliant?

Beautiful or Brilliant

This was a question I saw from another wedding supplier on Facebook last week that really got me thinking, it was….

“Would you like your wedding to be beautiful or brilliant?”

Now the obvious answer would be beautifully brilliant but this is an either or question so you have to climb off the fence, after all, a bottom full of splinters isn’t very comfortable!!

So, from a female aspect, a beautiful wedding is something that you dream about from childhood. The venue, the flowers, the dress, the centrepieces, the location for the photos all come into the mix as your dream and picture your big day.

But all of these things come at a big price, the cost of an AVERAGE wedding now is around £24,000.

Can you remember the last beautiful wedding that you went to. The crystals that were delicately woven into the floral centrepieces, you remember the beautiful attention to detail that had been paid to that, don’t you?!?

But what about Brilliant? Well your guest list is the size of a small town, isn’t the purpose of inviting that many people to make sure that everybody, from the Bride & Groom, down to Uncle Nobby (yes him with the slip ons and comb over!!) have a brilliant time.

So what can you do to have a brilliant time? Mmm, let me think about giving you an idea that might just get the party started

Beautiful is a worthy objective, but don’t spend a 5 figure sum on something that nobody else will remember or even in the worse case scenario, enjoy. The last thing you want is your guests sneaking off after the evening buffet.
